Austin-based artist exploring the intersection of color, emotion, and Texas soul
Discover My WorkElla Niendorff was born in Austin, Texas. She has earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. She envisions furthering her artistic journey by pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts degree.
While trained in drawing, Niendorff's artistic works spans across diverse mediums, including colored pencil, gouache, watercolor, and collage. Through her creations, she skillfully captures the intricate relationship between animals and humans, exploring the complexities of their interactions. Her work delves into the raw reality of life. Her pieces, though at times brutal, serve as a powerful lens through which she raises awareness about the detrimental consequences of urbanization and pollution. Being from a city that once valued nature and the beauty it holds, she strives to bring awareness and capture the loss of beauty as her hometown grows into a bustling city.
Ella's creativity knows no bounds; she seamlessly transitions between mediums, demonstrating her versatility as an artist. Her practices are not limited to drawing as she also works in jewelry making and sculpture. She often sells her jewelry in Austin at various public events, like the Austin East Side Tours, as a way to contribute to the creative community around her.
As an artist, Ella Niendorff stands at the intersection of passion and purpose. Her work not only captivates the senses but also challenges the viewer to reflect on the harmony we must restore between ourselves and the natural world. Through her artistry, she pulls us in to acknowledge our shared responsibility in preserving the delicate balance of life on Earth.
